Profile:
After his formal education in fine arts from Govt. College of Art, Karmakar has had numerous solo shows and group exhibitions all over India. He has shown his works at Lalit Kala Academy, New Delhi, Banga Sanskriti Sammelan, Mumbai and Kolkata, Triennale, XI Sao Paulo Biennale in ?71, Common Wealth Art Exhibition, London, Segunda Biennale ,Havana Cuba in ?86and many more.
His works are to be found in the collection of NGMA, New Delhi, Lalit Kala Academy, Art Heritage, Academy of Arts and Birla Academy, Kolkata. He has been a recipient of awards bestowed by Lalit Kala Academy in 1968, RBU in 1970, Abanindra Puraskar in 2000 among others.
